“Sunglasses hut” an international retailer company for wide
range of sunglasses. It started its operations in 1971 when Sanford Ziff (Founder of Sunglasses Hut) set up
in a self-supporting kiosk in Miami. In 1986 about 100 outlets of sunglasses
hut were operating when Ziff sold 75% share of the company to an investment
firm. Ziff remain in management of the company but he was not involved in day
to day activities of the company until he sold the remaining 25% share in 1991.
In 1993 Sunglasses hut
became a public company and later after three years of being a public company
they captured about 30% of sunglasses market in USA and started selling glasses
online in 1998 through their website. Keeping the success sessions alive
sunglasses hut started a new business of watches with the name “watch station”.
In the year 2000 another
group named by Luxottica purchased all rights of Sunglasses Hut and watch
stations after paying 653 Million US dollars and started repositioning of the
identity of sunglasses hut to put emphasis on the fashion ability and comfort
of the sunglasses. These days sunglasses hut is operation in more than 20
countries including Australia, United Arab Emirates, India, China and Saudi Arabia.
